Jacinta is a 40-something small business owner who has a great life, a great partner, a great kid, great friends but doesn’t take the time to appreciate all of this greatness.
Life is short – too darn short in my opinion. This blog is all about recording the trail of destruction and chaos that I call my life. Its not to be taken too seriously because there will be time to be serious when we are dead or at least in the nursing home that my (lovely) son picked out for me when he was eight.
We live in Cairns and like many people who live up this way we are here by accident. I relocated 12 years ago thinking to stay a few years. My partner, the lovely Robert, moved here six years ago. Don’t call us Queenslanders however – we are Cockroach through and through.
Robert and I have grown up kids from our first marriages – they are all in Sydney. They are all lovely people and, for the main, are getting on with their own lives. We like that.

- paddle outrigger canoes
- cross stitch
- stalk my son on Facebook
- listen to country music.

My mum is my ‘friend’ on FB…so no hiding from her.
Matt was horrified when both his father and I became his friends on FB – but since he attends the same university we both attended, he plays for my old hockey club and lives in the same college his father attended – we know exactly what he is up to anyway
