Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
“Just then Dick and Thomas Gray came into view, sparring out on to the lawn with their wooden weapons. I was glad to see they were dressed.”
We Speak No Treason
Rosemary Hawley Jarman
p. 26
I have only picked this book up off the “to read” pile tonight so apart from the fact that I know that this is a historical fiction that evolves around Richard III, I can’t really make any comment on whether I am enjoying the book or the writing style.
It’s the first book of two, so we will see how I like the first part of the story before we put hand in pocket for the second part. The book was first published in 1971 (the year I started school) so it will be interesting to see if the style of writing is ageless just like the stories of Richard III are ageless.
If any readers are interested in some of the other historical fiction I have finished lately then please also read my previous blog post (written this morning) that details the books I have finished in the past few days.
Have a great week everyone.
Jacinta

So when she says she’s glad they were dressed, does she mean wearing appropriate clothes, or wearing clothes at all?
